The tying of one knot led to the binding of many more as Mark and Sinead focused their award-winning talents and 20 years of combined experience within the art and design industry to embark on a shared creative journey into the world of rugs.

The first stop was Cairo and a carpet weaving mill where they fell in love with the craft’s skill and artistry, deciding that this was the discipline they wanted to channel their imaginations and abilities through. Studio Knot was conceived under the shadow of the Egyptian pyramids and born in the UK way back in 2012.

Based in Bruton, Somerset, an area of distinct natural beauty as well as a hub for creativity and style that acts as the perfect backdrop for inspiration, our studio is built upon an ethos of combining traditional rug-making methods with innovative design that is narratively personal to the client and of the highest material quality.
